Potency:

Potency is one of the most important parts of this game.  It is what determines your overall power.  It is difficult to win in battles against players with significantly higher potencies than your own.  The potency system is based off of a set of rules:
1. Base Potency = Your Level.  You gain 1 base potency every time you level up.  All other rules of potency involve “Extra Potency”
2. Equipment Quality = Quality of your equipment can give you potency.

All equipment refined or better = +1
All equipment unique or better = +3

All equipment elite or better = +4

All equipment super = +5

3. Equipment Bonus = Extra Potency equal to the lowest bonus of your equipment.
4. Sockets = +1 bonus for every socket.  +1 bonus for amber.  +3 bonus for refined amber.  +5 bonus for super amber.  +1 bonus for any super gems embedded.
5. Equipment Level = If all your equipment is at the highest level you can use, any extra potency from your equipment is doubled.
6. Eudemon Stars = For every star your summoned or converged eudemons have, you gain +1 potency.

Warriors vs. Mages:

Screenshot - 12_9_2007 , 2_24_04 AM

Warriors:

Pros: Great damage, awesome defense, powerful PvP skills
Cons: Difficult to level at higher levels, cannot normally hit more than one target

Mages:

Pros: Attack from a distance, powerful XP skills that can be complimented by the normal skills, can get the most out of the online Training Grounds
Cons: Poor base attack and defense, poor in PvP until upper levels, almost needs a team until upper levels

Equipment Quality:

Equipment can be of 5 different qualities.  The quality of equipment can be upgraded using a RedStone or a Super RedStone.

Common    Unique   Refined  Elite  Super
Ordinary (white) —>
Refined (slight green shine) —> Unique (blue shine) —> Elite (red shine) —> Super (orange shine)

Extra potency is awarded when all of the equipment is above ordinary quality.

All equipment Refined or better = +1 Potency

All equipment Unique or better = +3 Potency

All equipment Elite or better = +4 Potency

All equipment Super = +5 Potency and your character will shine

Equipment Level:

Equipment ranges in level.  You can only wear equipment that is your level or lower (A level 50 warrior cannot use a level 71 sword).  If all of your equipment is the highest level equipment you can wear, then any extra potency from your equipment is doubled.  Your equipment’s level can be upgraded with a VioletStone or a Super VioletStone.

 Equipment Bonus:

Screenshot - 12_8_2007 , 6_14_03 PM

Equipment can have a bonus from (+0) to (+12).  YellowStones can increase your equipment’s bonus.  Super YellowStones can increase a bonus from (+7) à (+8) and from (+8) à (+9).  You can upgrade you equipment’s bonus beyond +9 by speaking to Perez in Market.  Perez can help you upgrade your equipment beyond (+9) without the equipment’s bonus ever falling below (+9).

Equipment Sockets:

Screenshot - 12_8_2007 , 6_14_03 PMEquipment can sometimes have sockets, or sockets can be created during a successful upgrade (maximum of 2 sockets per equipment).  Gems can be embedded into sockets to make the equipment more powerful.  You receive +1 potency for every socket you equipment has.  In addition, for every super gem embedded in your equipment, you receive a +1 bonus to potency.
